I finished my internship before the Qingming holiday and returned to school. The people on my team were kind and easy to work with, but the work itself felt uninteresting and left little time for learning. I decided to leave so I could spend more time studying, exploring projects I care about, and enjoying the last part of university. April has been going well: I have been studying the xv6 operating system, trying small projects from 7-days-golang, and reading a few open-source projects. I feel that I made good progress this month, and I hope to keep the same rhythm in May.
I also started running again this month, with results that surprised me. I have always thought of myself as someone who would take an elevator rather than the stairs and sit while waiting for a bus whenever possible. With a friend’s help, I went from struggling through 2 km to running 10 km fairly comfortably in just 22 days. A year ago, I would not have believed it even in a daydream. Running makes me happy: once my body gets moving, many worries fall away, and my sleep has improved as well. I want to keep going and finish my first half marathon before graduation.
There is not much else to add. April was a good start, and I hope to keep this state through the summer.
